[TODO zh] The preservation copy and the convenient web copy serve different purposes. Original files should remain byte-for-byte unchanged; modern derivatives should be clearly identified.

[TODO zh] Retain the original filename, extension, timestamps where known, and source context.
[TODO zh] Record a SHA-256 checksum for every preservation master.
[TODO zh] Store provenance: donor/source, original URL, capture date, Wayback URL and any known creator credit.
[TODO zh] Generate thumbnails and playable transcodes into a separate derivatives directory.
[TODO zh] Never replace an original JPEG, GIF, FLV, SWF or video file merely because a newer format is easier to serve.
